Got Lemonade!!

The girls have been BEGGING me, and I mean begging me, FOREVER to have a lemonade stand. We finally did it. It was a great success. The pictures are of the girls - Kendra, Syd and Halla and their first customer. The girls made about 3 dollars each which is fantastic. Don't you love the fan that Rob drug out with an extension cord to help the girls in the Texas heat!! I was their second customer and took a sip of my special cup of lemonade...let's just say the girls were in charge of everything including making the lemonade. It was WAY to strong. I had to step in and add lots of water and ice. I am so proud and happy for them. They learned how to give correct change, how to greet a customer - as in "Hey, come get some lemonade" at the top of their lungs and to give out free lemonade to your friends. All in all it was a great day.

Let there be PIE!

I keep encouraging the girls that they can fend for themselves in the kitchen and now my hard work is paying off. I have taught the girls awhile ago to make themselves easy meals to start with...think cereal and milk. If the milk made it in the bowl it was a good day. Then the girls graduated to scrambled eggs with success and pancakes. Now they both are wanting to cook.. cook.. cook. I can't keep up with the demands. Kendra and Sydney took a kid's cooking class this summer and have been making creations from the cookbook to show mom and dad what they have learned. Sydney made dinner the other night with a littler supervision...Tex Mex meatloaf and potatoes foil packets that we cooked in the oven for dinner. It was pretty darn good. Kendra has been cooking up a storm this week. There have been cookies, pancakes and now PIE!!! I am so proud of both my girls. Now if we could just master cleanup!

Buttons, Ribbons, Trim...oh my!!

I am busy getting my class kits ready for CK Nashville and CK San Marcos. In the mean time I am also getting together different items to sell on my website and at the conventions. I am working on 18 different page layouts, coaster kits, zipper bags, etc. Which means looking at tons of buttons, trims and the like to find just the right one for each project. I think my head is spinning with my LONG to do list. To add to my stress we are in the middle of a house remodel. I don’t think I can be pulled in any more directions than I am now. Any tips on stress relief out there???

Loved This Book!!

I just finished a great book!!! If you love to read true stories than this is a must read. This was selected by a member of my book club and I am so excited to go discuss it tonight! As an educator and a person who loves to give back this is a very inspiring story. Get your hands on a copy and cozy up with a warm blanket and a cup of tea and enjoy. This has got me thinking about what contributions I can make to society and how society will remember me....hmm lots to think about. Tell me what you think after you read it!
